  • Created by the College Board, the SAT is a globally recognized entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.
  • It is developed and administered on behalf of the College Board by the Educational Testing Service.
  • Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities in the United States use the SAT to make admission decisions.
  • The SAT scores are valid over a period of 5 years.


Test Format & Structure

Test format

SAT can be divided into three major categories of Mathematics, Critical Reading, and Writing. Each major section is further divided into three sub categories. There are 10 sub-sections in each major section and the total time for the exam is 3 hours and 45 minutes which generally exceed to 4 hours due to form filling, distribution of material, break for 10 minutes or more.
